Choosing to follow my dream of teaching yoga has been a practice of svadhyaya—learning to believe in myself by taking steps toward my heart’s desire—and ishvara pranidhana, surrendering to the alchemy of process.
In my teaching, I invite students—and remind myself—to focus not only on the quality of the posture, but on the quality of mind we bring to it. I trust the mysterious power of yoga itself—something beyond my own skill or effort—to move through the practice, offering each student exactly what they need to meet life’s tricky postures off the mat with more presence, steadiness, and compassion.
